San Diego Trolley Security Cameras

This Is What You Get If You Ride The San Diego Trolley

Some dude got jumped and robbed at the Park & Market San Diego trolley station last week, as you can see in the video above. SDMTS and the police are shopping this video around trying to get a lead. You know what’s missing from all this? A mug shot, taken from the video of the attack of the attackers. The reason it’s missing is because the “security” cameras record at such a shitty resolution that the faces of the attackers can’t even be seen.

Of course this has me asking the question, “Why did the public have to pay (via taxes) for security cameras at trolley stations that don’t have record enough detail to solve a crime?” Seriously, what does this video contribute to the prevention of crime? If the answer is “nothing” then why are the cameras there and why the fuck did I have to pay for them? With any luck at all, there is a San Diego version of Bernard Goetz that will take action, with SDMTS cameras recording the action in unusable, shitty quality.

Well the reason they are there is so that the MTS security manager FRANK AMEZCUA can watch and micro manage his security employees.

Also these cameras are not there to prevent crime or help in the aid of catching a criminal but to forsee the firing of trolley security for lack of movement in the station, lack of fare inspections or simply having a rockstar energy drink.

Thank you for that information. I'll see what Frank Amezcua has to say about it.

I was almost robbed jan 23 2011 by some guy who keeps hanging out at the pacific fleet stop during the late hours and i've seen him again today (samoan/hispanic guy in his early 20's -19 5'10-5'11 195-210 lbs always wears a white flannel with black stripes and black dickie shorts afro type hair in a pony tail) around 5 pm coming back…..why arent there any police or security out at these trolley stops im going to have to stop using the bus and trolley and start riding my bike around and carrying pepper spray with me from now on it seems like the whole city is being overrun by these motherfucking criminal punks and the cops are protecting them instead of us….remember if you try to defend yourself against one of these punks and hit them back its assualt and could land you in jail so you have to wait (probably by then you're dead) for the police to come and "protect" you….i personally like the law better in texas and arizona. fuck this city and fuck this state! i personally think these robberies are part of some criminal conspiracy involving either the transit police and these criminals or organized crime / burgulary rings.

On Friday May 4th I sited for losing my ticket at the Lemon Grove Trolley station. When I got off the trolley i took two steps in the opposite direction of the security guard. As soon as this happened the guard then proceeded to grab me and threw me up against the fence. Before I knew it i had four guards on me. Two of the them holding my arms, another my torso, and another was holding down my neck while puling on my ear and told to quite resisting, even though it would be impossible to try when you have four men that are 200 lbs or more all over you. I was then handcuffed and put in the MTS patrol car and told if i was not cooperative that i would be arrested for resisting arrest. The men also ripped my jacket while handcuffing me. My girlfriend and her father witnessed the entire thing and when they asked why they were being so rough with me they said it was because i tried running away. I'm 5'11 and only 145 lbs, one or two the guards could have easily restrained me , and there was no need have that many guards hold me down since i did not threaten them or have any weapons on me. I was just wondering if you or anyone have any advice on legal action i could take against these people.
